Approximately 8% of the population suffers from the disease of the prostate or prostatitis. Researchers from the Case Western Reserve University found that patients with prostatitis have a lower level of the (CAL) clinical attachment between gums and teeth. The link stems from the levels of inflammation in patients with prostatitis. Participants in the study with a severer prostatitis showed signs of periodontits, as well.
